Examining the microbial community component of soil health
For my current position I continue to examine how farming practices, such as tillage and cover cropping, influence soil microbial communities and the services these communities provide.
One goal is to better adapt soil health best practices for cropping systems in the Pacific Northwest. Another goal is to improve our understanding of the biological component of soil health by examining microbial community structure and function in field soils along with physical and chemical soil measurements.
